Corduroy
Our Cotton cord is a medium-to-heavyweight fabric using a cut-pile weave construction. Extra sets of filling yarns are woven into the fabric to form wales and ridges of yarn on the surface. Due to its warmth and durability corduroy is commonly used in children's, women's and men's clothing today. With both pinwale and a widewale cord on offer, this cloth is a great basic to any wardrobe.
Panne
Panne is 100% polyester with a lustrous pile flattened in multiple directions, creating a rich, irregular surface that changes colour as the fabric moves. Our panne has one way stretch that makes fitting a breeze. The fabric is dense and provides great drape, expanding the possibilities for its use.
Top Pop Poplin
A tightly woven, plain-weave fabric characterized by fine, crisscrossing ribs, Poplin is one of the most versatile fabrics around. Heavyweight and durable, Top Pop poplin is a polyester cotton blend increasing its practicality. Widely used in women's and men's sportswear and casual clothing the vast array of colours will impress.
Nylon Ripstop
A very fine fabric made from nylon is constructed from plainly woven coarse fibers ribbed at intervals to stop tears. Lightweight and durable, Nylon ripstop repels water and is commonly used for garments and items that need to be shower proof.
Drill
Drill is a sturdy and valuable cotton fabric of medium weight with a distinctive twill weave. Drill is durable and practice as a staple basic to any wardrobe. Spandex is added to create stretch drill which makes achieving the perfect fit a breeze.
Gingham
Gingham is a plainly woven fabric consisting of two yarn dyes which intersect to create a checked appearance. With both 100% cotton and polyester cotton blend ginghams available, the array of colours and differing check sizes makes for a comprehensive variety.
Interlock and Jersey Knits
Interlocks and Jersey knits are formed by two needles interweaving yarn to create length of connected loops. Knitted fabrics can be either warp of weft knits and have a one way or two-way stretch. Knits can be made from a variant of composition fibres and each have particular advantages. Maximum stretch retention is often found when higher amounts of elastane or spandex are present in the yarn.
Denim
A staple to any wardrobe Denim is one of the world most popular and practical cloths.
The crisp, closely woven twill fabric has a distinctive appearance traditionally formed by the diagonal ridges that are created by the intersection of the indigo warp yarn and white filling yarns. Usually made from 100% cotton, denim is available in many different weights and washes. Spandex or Elastane are often added to create stretch denim which makes achieving the perfect fit a breeze.
Interfacing
There are many different types of interfacing available to aide in achieving the ultimate outcome when creating garments and craft projects. It can help shape detailed areas of a garment, add crispness, body and stability to bring out the best in the fabrics you have chosen. With different weights and types to choose from, including woven, non-woven, knitted, sew in and fusible options the possibilities are endless.
Chiffon:
Chiffon is a sheer, lightweight fabric with a soft matte pebbly finish. If you want drape this is the fabric for you. Create garments with elegant overlays that float. The fibres are twisted in the manufacturing process to add the airy and open weave. Up close it looks like a fine mesh or net. Commonly made from polyester it is easily dyed plain or printed. Select from High Multi Chiffon, Plain chiffon range for a smooth finish. If texture is what you are after, Silk Yoryu Chiffon is the range for you.
FYI: Polyester chiffon is less likely to wrinkle or crease compared to a natural fibre.
Satin:
Satin is a woven fabric that usually has one lustrous glossy side and one side matte. Satin originally was made from Silk, now it has advanced to be manufactured out of polyester, acetate and spandex blends. This ensure Satin is affordable everyday. Our satin range offers variety through different weights, thickness, and compositions. If your after something with stretch Satin Deluxe is for you. If you want structure and a classic satin look select from Winston, Princess or Bouquet satin, Dancertime, Fantasy or Pulse Charmuese satins. If you need a little bit of texture Satin back crepe, Satin back shantung is for you.
FYI: Satin is the most iconic fabric.
Silk:
Silk is a natural fibre created by silk worms. It has a delicate shimmering quality and has a silky smooth hand feel. It drapes beautifully, and is perfect for evening, or sleepwear. It is cool to wear and is breathable. To create garments with drape select from our Holiday Georgette ,Holiday Satin and Silk Yoryu Chiffon. For classic structure and fullness select from our Silk Dupion range.
FYI: It is a great choice for people with sensitive skin.
Suiting:
There is a great selection of suiting to be found in store. These vary in texture, composition, weight, drape and hand feel to satisfy your every suiting need. Select something with spandex or elastane to enable a perect fit for a smooth silhouette. Heavier weight fabrics are ideal for garments that require structured and strong shape.
