Hi there.
This is the first project I have completed in a long time. I had the idea of orginally make 4x6 sized cross stitch pictures to give to family and friends. I eventually decided that it would take to long to make, so the idea of a keychain came into mind.
I created the pattern of my cat using a photo to cross stitch computer software. I played around with the count and size until i found a size that would work.
The keychains are 51x76mm in size and the cross stitch is done on 16count linen.
It was the first time I have used belfast linen and I must say I'm not reall a fan. I much rather using Aida cloth.
The first picture is of the Front of the keychain with the pattern of our cat when she was a kitten.
The second picture is of the back. I just printed out her name, date of birth and a proverb on some computer paper to finish it off. I think it looks really good. Hides all the messy back threads as well. :)
At the moment I am selling these keychains on ebay. Alot of my family and friends thought I should sell them, as they were a really good idea, so I'm giving it a go.
Of course, I'm just using the one I made as an example. When someones buys a keychain they email me a picture of their own pet, so I can make up their own personalised cross stitch keychain.
Please let me know what you think. And if you are interested in buying or just looking at my ebay ad, just let me know and I'll send you a link. :)
