    • Are you a quilter or a topper?
I'm a topper- have 16 tops that need quilting but I'm not that keen on the quilting part of it-I'd rather make the top bit & then move on.

    • I have made many a quilt top, always had the ones I really need professional quilted, it is getting so expensive to do that so I have started having a try myself and its not all that hard, you just need a little patience. Start with basic stitching in the ditch or 1/4" in from the ditch line to define it a little. Or use tape to mark where you are wanting to stitch 'Cross Hatching'. On goes the 'Walking Foot' and your off. A few other secrets if you need to know.

    • I'm a topper too, but I find what helps is sending them off to be quilted! It's more expensive but I figure hey, at least they get done and they look great too!

    • Yes! Holly I do get mine done, on special quilts. As they say "A quilt is not a quilt until it is quilted" and how true is that saying, it changes the look completely and makes a plain pieced top into a work of art. Happy stitching.

    • Lots of people do the same. Send them off to a long arm quilter and enjoy seeing the finished project whilst working on th enext top.

    • A topper is a quilter who only ever makes the tops (pieced bit) of the quilt- a quilt isn't a quilt until its quilted & we never seem to get that far! I have a LOT of tops waiting for me to quilt them!
