What Project are we all working on

Me again,

Just wanted to find out what everyone was working on at the moment. I have started one which I think I will be doing for the next 10 years haha.

Its a image of an ANZAC going over the hill with the sun rising in the background. The Ode is then back stitched along the right hand bottom side. Its nice but alot of one colour which is why it is taking me awhile to do but it will get done :-)

So what is everyone else doing?

Hi Everyone, Just thought I would kick off by introducing myself.

My name is Cassie. I work for Spotlight as part of their Craft department at their Lidcombe store.

My Mum taught me to long stitch when I was about 10 years old, started with a little fun stitch, while she did big cross-stitches. Loved here work so she taught me how to do Cross-stitching and i love it.

What I love about Cross-stitching is you can turn anything image into a cross-stitch and the final product is beautiful even though it takes ahile to do.

Cant wait to talk to you all about this great craft.

    • I'm bored with the cross stitch I am doing currently and would like to start something new. Where do you go to find a good choice of patterns - maybe ordering from catalogues?

    • I get like that sometimes. I find searching on the net usually helps. However have you got cross-stitch software for your computer?

    • Hi Cassie,
I have just started a cross stitch count the numbers for my grandson, he is only a few months old at the moment, but it will probably take me that long lol.
I am going to take pictures of my journey along the way to include.
How do you stop your fabric from bending from the hoop or dont you worry about that. I know that it irons out but it drives me nuts.
      Regards

    • I have got a question for everyone,

Has anyone seen any patterns for simple cross stitch Christmas motifs? I need some that only required two to three colours? Any help would be great. Need them for a Christmas shirt :-)

      Regards

    • Hey Ladies,

I''m new to this but after reading all the comments above thought i may as well join in, lol.
I've used the Fox Collection and Tapestry Craft used to be one of my favourite shops, it's now called Morris and Sons and it's up near Town Hall, not sure what street it is in now. Anyway, what i wanted to say was that both these places are HUGELY expensive, I have often looked through their online cattledogs, found what I liked and then bought it off ebay for a third, if not less, of the price, I haven't been disappointed yet.

Well happy new year everybody, and as soon as i work out this spotlight thingy, hopefully i'll be on here more often. I'm a sucker for cross stitch.

They are quite expensive in there. I went with mum a few weeks ago and I told mum I'll wait till I go back to work and get what I needed. lol

    • Hey Cassie,

I'm Liz, and I'm from Penrith, i've been cross stitching for twenty four years and can't think of any other hobby i enjoy more.

Right now I'm working on the last instalment of a round robin, the theme for this one is quilts, actually i'm not working on it as yet, i'll begin it on the weekend when I take part in the January's SAL. This particular piece has been to Canada, UK, US and finally Australia, when i finish it, i'll be sending it back to it's rightful owner in the US, i think, lol.

      Happy Stitching,

      Liz.
