I use GLAD brand oven bags in the toys I make. they make a great noise. Cellophane could also work. try some different types of plastics for different sounds.

Hi there :)
I just joined TODAY....I am a Grandma.....
With three small grandchildren, a little girl (9 months) and two little boys (2 and 5 yrs) old.
Last week I took advantage of the great SPOTLIGHT SEWING MACHINE SALE....
AND..... I bought myself a NEW MACHINE :)..... I have not sewn in years, however,
I did sew lots of "Knit Fabric" garments and other bits and pieces, for my kids when they were babies/toddler/pre school, until they realised that "Mum had MADE" them....
You know.. the age they get.... when they only want the "BRAND"
and could NOT possibly wear ANYTHING that their MOTHER had MADE :(
Anyway... I would love to make some TRENDY GEAR for my little "Lovelies".
(Bright Colours) (MODERN DESIGNS) I think you get the idea :)
I am on a very limited income, (Pension) and the prices on Patterns these days, are a "Bit Over the Top".
Does anyone have some (TRENDY) Babies/Children's PDF Patterns that they are willing to Share?....
Or know of a good web site that has FREE Downloadable Patterns?
I would really like a Pattern for Ruffled Nappy Covers ... and EASY things to get me going :)
I think the Nappy Cover might be an EASY PROJECT for me to start with.... I have GREAT PLANS...
But so often I start and ... then end up with a whole bunch of UFO's (UN FINISHED OBJECTS) he he he!
Eager to get started.... and Eagerly awaiting any replies - Thank you :)

Hi, just thought if you go to the op shop and get an item cheap you can take a pattern off of it.
I have made nappy pants myself, i just took a pattern off a pair of size two shorts (perhaps your grandsons) and then turn the legs up making a pocket, thread elastic through the legs, and there you have a nappy cover. Just add frills for girls or i even sew on a pocket with contrasting material to the top or dress if i'm making it. If you don't have the finances to pick up items from the op shop, you can get the measurements from the items in the stores like width and length of the garment and go from there depending how crafty you are. I hope this helps, kind regards mrs50
