Afghan adventures - Striped bag

- Materials
- • 4 x 100g balls Premium Marvel 8ply acrylic - 2 white, 1 denim, 1 navy
• 8mm crochet hook
• scissors, yarn needle
• stitch marker or safety pin to mark start of each round - Step 1
- Note: This bag is worked in rounds using 2 strands of yarn of the same colour with each row slip stitching into first stitch of the round before moving up to next round. A stitch marker is recommended to keep a track of the start of the rounds.
Foundation row: Using 2 strands of white, work 31 ch.
Round 1: 1dc in 2nd ch from hook, 1dc in ea of next 29 ch, turn and work along bottom, 1dc in bottom of next 30 ch, sl st to 1st dc (60 dc) mark start with stitch marker.
Round 2: 1ch, 1dc in same st as sl st, 1dc in ea of next 59 sts, sl st to 1st dc.
Repeat round 2, 33 times working stripes as follows:

2 rounds denim
2 rounds white
2 rounds navy
2 rounds white
2 rounds denim
7 rounds white
2 rounds denim
2 rounds white
2 rounds navy
2 rounds white
2 rounds denim
3 rounds white
Work one row of crab stitch around the top of the bag to finish off.
Handles (make 2)
Foundation row: Using white work 51 ch.
Row 1: 1dc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 dc in ea st to end, turn.
Rows 2-5: 1ch, 1dc in ea dc to end, turn.
Lay the bag out flat, place handles in desired position and sew to the inside of the bag using a whip stitch. Sew in all ends. - Abbreviation
