- Materials
- • 1 x 20g ball Excel metallic yarn
• 4.00mm crochet hook
• dangling ornament/charm
• 1 toggle clasp
• 8 beads - Step 1
- note: Thread 4 beads, 1 dangling ornament, 4 beads onto yarn before starting.
- Step 2
- Leave a tail of at least 20cm to sew on clasp and with 4mm hook work 72ch, placing a marker in the 36th ch to mark the centre.
- Step 3
- Row 1: 1dc in 2nd ch from hook, 1dc in ea ch to centre, 2dc in centre marked ch, 1dc in ea ch to end. Turn. Row 2: 1dc in ea of next 23 dc, (1dc, 5ch, bring bead up, 1dc in ea ch, 1dc in next dc), 1dc in ea of next 3 dc, (1dc, 7ch, bring bead up, 1dc in ea ch, 1dc in next dc), 1dc in ea of next 3 dc, (1dc, 11ch, bring bead up, 1dc in ea ch, 1dc in next dc), 1dc in ea of next 3 dc, (1dc, 7ch, bring bead up, 1dc in ea ch, 1dcin next dc), 1dc in ea of next 4 dc, bring up ornament, 1dc in same st as last dc, 1dc in ea of next 3 dc, (1dc, 7ch, bring bead up, 1dc in ea ch, 1dc in next dc), 1dc in ea of next 3 dc, (1dc, 11ch, bring bead up, 1dc in ea ch, 1dc in next dc), 1dc in ea of next 3 dc, (1dc, 7ch, bring bead up, 1dc in ea ch, 1dc in next dc), 1dc in ea of next 3 dc, (1dc, 5ch, bring bead up, 1dc in each ch, 1dc in next dc), 1dc to end. Fasten off, leaving a 20cm tail to attach toggle clasp.
- Step 4
- Take tail and run a gathering thread through all six rows, pull slightly to gather the end into a reverse fan. Thread the needle through the loop of one side of the toggle clasp, and attach to apex of fan, stitch into place firmly before finishing off and sewing in the ends. Repeat for other side of clasp ensuring the toggle bar is a little bit slacker to make it easier to go through the circle, but not too loose.
