- Materials
- • 10 x 50g balls 'Moda Vera' Cupcake - ea a different colour
• 5.50mm crochet hook
• 2 x large split ring
• 2 x buttons
• scissors, yarn needle - Step 1
- Select one colour as main colour used to work squares together and around the whole jacket.
Make 15 small open granny squares using a different colour for each round (3 colours per square) from all but main colour.
Using main colour join squares by holding 2 squares WS facing and working a row of dc along the edge of both squares together.
Form a block of 12 squares (4 rows x 3 columns), then add 1 square to top left column and 2 squares to top right column.
Work 2 rows of dc evenly around the whole coat.
Fasten off and sew in ends. - Step 2
- Belt buckle: with RS facing work 7 dc across the middle of the 3rd square, 1ch turn, work a row of dc across these 7 sts, 1ch turn, 1dc, take a large ring and holding it in front, work 5dc over both ring and through next 5 dc, 1dc, 1ch, turn, 1dc, take the 2nd ring and holding it to the back, work 5dc over both the ring and through the next 5dc, 1dc, fasten off and sew in ends.
- Step 3
- Belt: on the opposite side of coat in the corresponding square, work 7dc, 1ch, turn, *7dc, 1ch, turn, rep from * 45 times, then work 3 rows dec at the start and end of ea row, fasten off and sew in ends.
Sew one button onto both top corners of the last square in the left column. To close neck, slip the top corners of the right column over the buttons. - Abbreviation
