How to - use texture paste & masks

Great for borders or as a decoration all of its own.

Materials

• canvas
• Kaiser fozz felt border (mask)
• gesso
• palette knife

Step 1

Peel the backing from the fozz felt border and attach to the left hand side of the canvas with a little overhang at the top and bottom. Do not stick it down too firmly as it will need to be removed.

Step 2

Cover the felt with a generous layer of gesso using the palette knife and remove the felt almost straight away, then set aside to dry overnight is best. Step 3

A stencil can also be used here for a relief look. And impasto or texture paste can be used in place of the gesso.
