Knitted beaded choker

By Spotlight

Inspired by Claire Aristides... we’ve tried our own version of glamour beading with this distinctive choker.
Final Result
Materials
• 1 pair 3.75 mm knitting needles
• 26 gauge silver beading wire
• assorted beads
• bead board
• necklace closures
• 3 x eye pins
• 3 x jump rings
• 3 x detail beads
• jewellery pliers
Step 1
Thread wire with 2 - 2.5m of beads. Slide the beads along the wire and cast on 6 stitches as if knitting with yarn. Knit 5 rows of plain knitting then on the 6th row begin knitting in one bead per stitch.
Step 2
Continue knitting stitches with one bead per stitch until the choker is the desired length. All of the threaded beads may not be used or you may need to add more. As the knitting is done using wire it is very easy to join two pieces together by simply twisting the ends together and continuing to knit.
Step 3
Knit 5 rows without beads and cast off all stitches. Using the wire attach the necklace closures. Thread beads onto eye pins and attach detail beads to the ‘eye’ using jump rings. Using the pliers turn the end of the eye pin into a loop and attach to choker. Repeat for all three eye pins.
Handy Hint
Can also be made shorter to be worn as a cuff or bracelet.
Handy Hint
Use all the same beads for a different look.
