- Materials
- • papier mâché mannequin
• mini mosaic mirror glass tiles
• glasscutter (nibbler)
• glue
• white grout
• disposable cup
• popstick
• old kitchen sponge
• paint - white
• paint brush & palette - Step 1
- Do not paint the mannequin. Glue the mosaics directly to the papier mâché as with time paint flakes off and the tiles may come away. Lay mini mosaic mirror tiles over the front of mannequin, when satisfied with the look, glue tiles in position and leave to dry.
- Step 2
- Position and glue the tiles over the back section of the mannequin. Leave glue to
dry a minimum of one hour before grouting as wet glue may reactivate and the mosaic
pieces come loose. - Step 3
- Mix grout powder and water in a disposable cup until it is the consistency of toothpaste. Wipe grout over the mosaic, filling all the gaps between the mosaic pieces. Leave to harden for approx 30 minutes. Wipe off excess using a damp, almost dry, sponge. When grout is fully dry (next day) clean any dry glue off the mirror tiles using white vinegar on a soft cloth. Finish by painting the neck, arms and underneath of the mannequin with white paint.
