Materials

• cardstock
• stapler & staples
• paper trimmer
• scissors
• glue
• needle & thread

Step 1

Cut paper into strips of varying widths. Glue a contrasting coloured narrower strip to the outside of 3 strips one for the body, one for the head and one for the tail. Join body strip into a circle and staple. Make head circle smaller. Fold over 12cm at one end of the tail and staple to the body. Curl decorative strips and attach inside the head and body. Make 3 cuts lengthways into 4 short strips and staple to each side of the tail. Curl cut ends. Cut a beak and some feet and attach. Thread needle and tie a
large knot in one end. Sew through top of body using knot to anchor thread. Tie loop in top for hanging.
