Ribbon reels

- These reels are a great way to keep your ribbons organised. Paint and decorate the reels to create a colour palette. When dry, wrap your ribbons around the appropriate coloured reel.

- Materials
- • Kaisercraft ribbon reels (6 per pack)
• fine saw or craft knife
• fine sandpaper
• assorted paints
• assorted scraps of scrapbook paper to match paint colours
• PVA glue
• paint brush
• single hole punch
• craft knife, ruler & cutting mat
• metal book
• assorted ribbons
• scissors - Step 1
- Cut wooden reels apart with either a fine saw or craft knife. Lightly sand cut edges flat. Paint the front and back of each ribbon reel using a different colour for each. Allow to dry.
- Step 2
- Cut two pieces of printed paper 9cm x 1.5cm for each reel. Punch a single hole in the centre of one of the cut printed paper pieces. Mix water with PVA and brush onto back of paper. Gently stick the hole punched piece to the top of the ribbon reel and the other piece to the bottom. Smooth out any bubbles. Allow to dry.
- Step 3
- Wrap ribbons around the matching coloured reels. Connect reels with a metal book ring or thread ribbon through holes and tie.
- Variations
- Instead of paper, use Fozz Felt or rub-ons.
