Materials
• 35cm x 45cm cushion
• 30cm x 40cm thick cardstock
• Folk Art paints - olive green,
sap green
• ruscus spray - olive
• wire cutters
• paint brush
• textile medium

To make a cushion cover you will also need: 70cm x 45cm linen fabric, 40cm zip, 45cm cushion insert.
Step 1
Painting the cover

Cut 2 stems from leaf spray using wire cutters. Mix textile medium with each of the two paints as per manufacturer’s instructions. Hold one of the stems down on the right side of fabric/cushion cover, and carefully paint around stem using olive green. Carefully lift stem off fabric/cushion cover, allow to dry. Repeat with second stem using the sap green paint to the left of olive green painted stem. Carefully lift off, allow to dry. If using ready made cushion, replace the cushion insert. If making a cushion cover, place other piece of linen over the top of painted linen. Sew a zip in along the base edge of fabrics and sew the remaining sides together. Clip corners, turn right side out, press seams. Cut a 45cm cushion insert down to measure 35cm x 45cm. Re-sew the cut edge of insert closed. Place insert inside cover, zip up.
Note
If making cushion cover: Cut linen fabric into two pieces each measuring 35cm x 45cm.

If using ready made cushion: Remove insert from cover and insert a thick piece of cardstock the same size as the cushion.
