Materials

• felt square
• 30mm safety eyes
• perle thread
• red felt tipped pen
• scissors
• 2 large safety pins
• large chenille needle
• stuffing pellets
• pliers

Note: One felt square will make 2 bean bag buddies.

Step 1

Cut the felt square in quarters and use one piece for the front and one for the back of the Bean Bag Buddy. Draw a mouth onto the front and attach the eyes (the poles at the rear of the eyes can be cut with pliers).

Step 2

Pin the two pieces using two large safety pins. Sew both halves together using blanket stitch but leave a 7cm opening in one side.

Step 3

Pour the pellets into the buddy through the opening until there is a good amount of weight at its base. Blanket stitch the opening closed.

Handy Hint

Change the shape of the mouth to get happy and sad buddies or use different coloured felt for the front and the back.
