Final Result

Materials

•3 x 100g balls ‘Moda Vera’ Cardellino
• 1 pair 7.00mm knitting needles
• Cable needle
• Scissors
• Yarn needle
• Tape measure
• Crochet hook

Approx size: 126cm x 19cm (excluding fringe)

Step 1

SCARF
Cast on 30 stitches.

Pattern
Row 1: K2, (P1, K1) twice, P5, K8, P5, (K1, P1) twice, K2.
Row 2: K1, (P1, K1) 3 times, K4, P8, K4, (K1, P1) 3 times, K1.
Repeat Rows 1 & 2, 4 more times, 10 rows in all.
Row 11: K2, (P1, K1) twice, P2, (K1, P1, K1) into next st, turn, P3, turn, K3, turn, P3, turn, K3togtbl, P2, Cable 4, P2, (K1, P1, K1) into next st, turn, P3, turn, K3, turn, P3, turn, K3togtbl, P2, (K1, P1) twice, K2.
Row 12: As Row 2.
Row 13: (P1, K1) twice, P1, [(K1, P1, K1) into next st, turn, P3, turn, K3, turn, P3, turn, K3togtbl, P1] twice, K8, P1, [(K1, P1, K1) into next st, turn, P3, turn, K3, turn, P3, turn, K3togtbl, P1] twice, (K1, P1) twice, K2.
Row 14: As row 2.
Repeat Rows 1 & 2, 8 more times, 16 rows in all.
The last 20 rows form pattern (rows 11-30).
Repeat pattern 8 more times.
Repeat Rows 11 to 14 once more, then Rows 1 & 2, 3 more times.
Cast off in pattern.

Step 2

TO MAKE UP
Weave in loose ends. Cut 66 x 40cm lengths of yarn. Put 3 strands together and fold in half to make a loop. Use a crochet hook to pull the loop through the cast on/off edge, put ends through the loop and pull firmly.
Attach 11 fringes evenly spaced across both ends. Trim if necessary.

Abbreviation

K = knit
P = purl
st/s = stitch/e
K3togtbl = knit 3 sts together through back loop
Cable 4 = slip next 4 sts on cable needle, put at the front of work,
K next 4 sts, K4 sts off cable needle.
