Crochet fruity bags - Pineapple

Crochet lovers beware! Once you start making these bags, everyone will want one.

Materials

• 1 x 50g ball 8 ply pure wool - yellow
• 1 x 50g ball 8 ply pure wool - green
• 6.00mm crochet hook
• scissors, yarn needle

Step 1

Using yellow wool make 2ch, 6dc into 2nd ch from hook, sl st to 1st dc.
Rnd 1: 2dc in each dc [12 dc].
Rnd 2: (2dc in 1st dc, 1dc in next dc) 6 times [18 dc].
Rnd 3: (2dc in 1st dc, 1dc in each of next 2 dc) 6 times [24 dc].
Rnd 4: (2dc in 1st dc, 1dc in each of next 3 dc) 6 times [30 dc].
Rnd 5: (2dc in 1st dc, 1dc in each of next 4 dc) 6 times [36 dc].
Rnd 6: (2dc in 1st dc, 1dc in each of next 5 dc) 6 times [42 dc].
Rnd 7: (2dc in 1st dc, 1dc in each of next 6 dc) 6 times, sl st into blp of next dc [48 dc].
Rnd 8: 1ch, *1htr into blp of next dc, repeat from * to end of round, sl st to 1st ch, [48 dc].
Rnd 9: 1dc in same st as sl st, * (sk 2 htr, shell in next htr, sk 2 htr, dc in next htr) rep from * seven times ending with a sl st into 1st dc.
Rnd 10: 3ch into same st as sl st, 2tr in same st, *(1dc in 3rd tr in shell of last row, shell in next dc) rep from * seven times, 2tr in starting st, sl st to 3rd ch of starting st.
Rnd 11: 1dc in same st as sl st, *(shell in next dc, dc in 3rd tr in shell of last row) rep from * seven times, sl st to starting dc.
Repeat rows 10 & 11; 3 times.
Rnd 18: 3ch in same st as sl st, 1tr in same st, *(1dc between 2nd and 3rd tr of shell in last row, shell-A in next dc) rep from * seven times, 2tr in starting st, sl st to 3rd ch of starting st.
Rnd 19: 1dc in same st as sl st, *(shell-A in next dc, 1dc between 2nd and 3rd tr of shell-A in last row) rep from * seven times, sl st to starting dc.
Rnd 20: 3ch in same st as sl st, 1tr in same st, *(1dc between 2nd and 3rd tr of shell-A in last row, shell-B in next dc) rep from * seven times, 2tr in starting st, sl st to 3rd ch of starting st.
Rnd 21: 1dc in same st as sl st, *(shell-B in next dc, 1dc in 2nd tr of shell-A in last row) rep from * seven times, sl st into starting dc.
Rnd 22: Change to green wool, 3ch in same st as sl st, (1htr in next st, 1dc in next st, 1htr in next st,1tr in next st) rep from * to last 3 sts, 1htr in next st, 1dc in next st, 1htr in next st, sl st to 3rd ch of starting ch.
Rnd 23: 1ch, 1dc in same st as sl st, 1dc in each st to end, sl st to starting dc.
Rnd 24: 4ch, (sk 1 dc, 1tr, 1ch, sk 1 dc) rep to end, sl st to 3rd ch of starting ch.
Rnd 25: 1ch, 1dc in same st as sl st, 1dc in each st to end, sl st to 1st dc.
Rnd 26: 1ch, 1dc in each of next 2 dc, (5ch, 1dc in 2nd ch from hook, 1htr in each of next 3 ch), 1dc in each of next 4 dc, (8ch, 1dc in 2nd ch from hook, 1dc in next ch, 1htr in each of next 5 ch), 1dc in each of next 4 dc, (6ch, 1dc in 2nd ch from hook, 1dc in next ch, 1htr in each of next 3 ch), 1dc in each of next 4 dc, (7ch, 1dc in 2nd ch from hook, 1dc in each of next 2 ch, 1htr in each of next 2 ch), 1dc in each of next 4 dc, (5ch, 1dc in 2nd ch from hook, 1dc in next ch, 1htr in each of next 2 ch), 1dc in each of next 4 dc, (6ch, 1dc in 2nd ch from hook, 1dc in next ch, 1htr in each of next 2 ch), 1dc in each of next 4 dc, (8ch, 1dc in 2nd ch from hook, 1dc in next ch, 1htr in each of next 5 ch), 1dc in each of next 3 dc, (7ch, 1dc in 2nd ch from hook, 1dc in each of next 2 ch, 1htr in each of next 2 ch), 1dc in each of next 3 dc, (7ch, 1dc in 2nd ch from hook, 1dc in each of next 2 ch, 1htr in each of next 2 ch), 1dc in next 2 dc, sl st to 1st dc.

Fasten off and sew in all ends.

Make two cords approx 600mm long. Thread one cord through loops around the bag and join in circle, then thread the other cord from the opposite side of bag and join in circle. Now when both cords are pulled the bag closes and the cords become the handles.
