- • 34cm x 8cm fabric for front
• 34cm x 8cm fabric for back
• 34cm x 8cm medium iron-on interfacing
• 25cm of 10-15mm wide soft elastic
• Sewing thread to match fabrics
• Scissors
• Sewing machine
• Pins
• Iron - Step 1
- Using the template provided below cut out one of each fabric and one of interfacing.
Iron the interfacing to the wrong side of the front headband fabric. - Step 2
- With the right side up and 5mm in from ends, sew elastic to each of the short ends of the interfaced fabric, aligning raw ends so that elastic is facing inwards towards middle of fabric.
With right sides together, pin the remaining fabric piece over the top of the fabric with elastic. - Step 3
- Sew the fabrics together using a 1cm seam allowance, leaving a 5cm opening along one of the longer sides. Take care not to catch the elastic in the seam.
Trim seams and clip corners, turn headband right side out through 5cm opening.
Press flat.
Topstitch all edges of headband 3mm in from the edge. - Note
