- Materials
- • Kaisercraft lace up book
• 2 scrapbook papers - Kimberly Poloson blooming love range
• 60cm x 10mm cream tape (per stand)
• white paint
• paint brush
• hole punch
• sandpaper
• PVA glue or double-sided tape
• scissors
• craft knife, cutting mat & metal ruler
• 1.5m narrow ribbon & tapestry needle or 70cm x 20 gauge beading wire and wire cutters - Step 1
- Lightly sand the edges of each board. Paint the outer edges and 1cm in from each edge on the front and back of each board with white paint. Let dry.
- Step 2
- Using craft knife, cutting mat and metal ruler cut a piece of scrapbook paper to fit the front of each board. If there is a pattern make sure the pattern is aligned on both pieces of paper when cutting. Mix water with PVA, brush onto back of paper and glue paper to board, smoothing out any bubbles and allow to dry. Use one of the uncovered boards as a template to mark where the holes are on the covered side. Repeat for the back of each board but if using an all over design on the back aligning the design on the pages is not necessary. Allow to dry thoroughly.
- Step 3
- Cut the cream tape into 3 x 20cm lengths. Punch the holes down each side of both boards. Start at the back and thread a 20cm tape through the top left hole on one board, then from the front to the back on the top right hole of the other board. Knot together at the back. Repeat with the other two lengths of tape in the third hole and the bottom hole. The two boards will now stand up at right angles.
- Step 4
- Ribbon
Thread one end of the narrow ribbon onto the tapestry needle. Follow the sequence for threading starting at #1 in the centre back; thread the needle through the fourth hole from the top and take the ribbon through to the front leaving a 10cm tail at the back. Go into the fourth hole from the top on the other board (#2) then across the board to the hole on the outside edge (#3). Continue following the sequence as shown in diagram 1 until at #21 the ribbon can be tied in knot to the tail at the start. Trim off any excess ribbon.
- Step 5
- Wire
Follow the sequence for threading in diagram 2 starting at #1 in the centre back; take wire through the second hole from the top through to the front leaving a 10cm tail at the back. Go into the second hole from the top on the other board (#2) then back through the start to the front (#3). Go across the board to the hole on the outside edge (#4), around the edge of the board (#5) and down the back (#6). Continue following the sequence as shown in diagram 2 until at #16 the wire can be twisted together with the tail at the start. Cut off any excess wire.
- Handy Hint
- - For bracelets, use the ribbon on the top set of holes.
- Use larger albums and drill your own holes to create a stand for necklaces. - Note
