- • Gütermann sewing thread - natural &/white
• sewing machine
• optional - overlocker
• scissors
• pins, tape measure
• 60cm natural linen shirting
• 70cm x 25mm natural cluny lace
• 6 x 20mm buttons
• hand needle
• 36cm x 36cm cushion insert - Step 1
- From natural linen shirting cut a 55cm x 80cm rectangle. Neaten the 55cm edges by turning under 1.5cm. Press and sew or overlock.
- Step 2
- Place right side up with neatened ends on the left and right. Fold left end in 22cm aligning raw edges then fold right end in 22cm overlapping the left. Pin along raw edges and sew using 1.5cm seam allowance. Turn right side out and press.
- Step 3
- Cut lace into 2 x 35cm lengths and pin one length 8cm in from the right-hand edge. Fold ends under and stitch lace down each side through both front and back of the cover. Repeat 8cm in from the left-hand side. Press.
- Step 4
- Position buttons on the lace and hand stitch in place. Insert cushion.
