• 4 x 50g balls 'Bella Baby' Honey 4 ply
• 4.00mm Crochet hook
• 4.50mm Crochet hook

SIZE: Newborn to 3 months
Step 1
JACKET (front & back worked in one)

Using 4mm hook, make 49ch.
Row 1: 1tr in 4th ch from hook, 1tr in each ch to end, turn (47 tr).
Row 2: (1dc, 1ch) in 1st tr, 1tr in each of next 2 tr, inc in next st, (1tr in each of next 3 tr, inc in next st) 10 times, 1tr in each of next 3 tr, turn 58 tr).
Row 3: (1dc, 1ch) in 1st tr, 1tr in each of next 2 tr, inc in next st, (1tr in each of next 4 tr, inc in next st) 10 times, 1tr in each of next 4 tr, turn 69 tr).
Row 4: (1dc, 1ch) in 1st tr, 1tr in each of next 3 tr, inc in next st, (1tr in each of next 5 tr, inc in next st) 10 times, 1tr in each of next 4 tr, turn 80 tr).
Row 5: (1dc, 1ch) in 1st tr, 1tr in each of next 3 tr, inc in next st, (1tr in each of next 6 tr, inc in next st) 10 times, 1tr in each of next 5 tr, turn 91 tr).
Row 6: (1dc, 1ch) in 1st tr, 1tr in each of next 4 tr, inc in next st, (1tr in each of next 7 tr, inc in next st) 10 times, 1tr in each of next 5 tr, turn (102 tr).
Row 7: (1dc, 1ch) in 1st tr, 1tr in each of next 4 tr, inc in next st, (1tr in each of next 8 tr, inc in next st) 10 times, 1tr in each of next 6 tr, turn (113 tr).
Row 8: (1dc, 1ch) in 1st tr, 1tr in each of next 5 tr, inc in next st, (1tr in each of next 9 tr, inc in next st) 10 times, 1tr in each of next 6 tr, turn (102 tr).

Join underarms (to finish bodice)
Row 9: (1dc, 1ch) in 1st tr, 1tr in each of next 5 tr, inc in next st, (1tr in each of next 3 tr, inc in next st) 3 times, sk 26 tr, (1tr in each of next 3 tr, inc in next st) 8 times, 1tr in each of next 2 tr, sk 26 tr, (inc in next st, 1tr in each of next 3 tr) 4 times, inc in next st, 1tr, turn (89 tr).

Change to 4.50mm hook and work skirt as follows:
Row 10: 1ch, 1dc in 1st tr, *(2ch, sk 2 tr, cluster, 2ch, sk 2 tr, 1dc) rep from * to end of row, turn.
Row 11: beg cluster, (2ch, 1dc in top of cluster, 2ch, cluster in next dc) rep to end of row, finishing with a 2ch, cluster in last dc, turn.
Row 12: 1dc in top of cluster, (2ch, cluster in next dc, 2ch, 1dc in top of cluster) rep to end of row, finishing with a 2ch, 1dc in top of beg cluster, turn.

Rows 11 & 12 form patt, rep patt 8 times or until length required.
Fasten off.
Step 2
RIGHT SLEEVE
With right side facing and using 4.00mm hook, join yarn with a sl st into back underarm tr.
Rnd 1: (1dc, 1ch) in 1st tr, (inc in next st, 1tr in each of next 5 tr) 4 times, inc in next st, 1tr in next tr, sl st into 1-ch, (32 tr).

Change to 4.50mm hook, and work sleeve as follows:
Rnd 2: 1ch, 1dc in same st as sl st, (2ch, sk 2 tr, cluster, 2ch, sk 2 tr, 1dc) rep from * to end of rnd, 2ch, sl st into 1st dc.
Rnd 3: beg cluster, (2ch, 1dc in top of cluster, 2ch, cluster in next dc) rep to end of rnd, finishing with a 2ch, sl st into top of beg cluster.
Rnd 4: 1dc in same st as sl st, (2ch, cluster in next dc, 2ch, 1dc in top of cluster) rep to end of rnd, finishing with a 2ch, sl st into 1st dc.
Rnds 3 & 4 form patt, rep patt 4 times or until length required.
Fasten off.
Step 3
LEFT SLEEVE
Work as for right sleeve joining yarn at front left underarm.
Step 4
To finish off, starting at front right hem, using 4.00mm hook, work 1 row of dc up front of skirt opening and along bodice, work 3dc into top of neck opening, 1dc in each tr around neck opening, 3dc in top of left neck opening,

1 row of dc down the bodice and the skirt to hem, turn work around and work a row of shell along the hem, as follows - work 3tr into 1st dc, (1dc into next cluster, shell into next dc) finishing with 3tr into last dc, work 1 more row of dc around the front and neck of jacket, making small loops of 2ch down the left hand bodice as buttonholes.
Fasten off and sew in all ends.
Sew on buttons.
Thread ribbon around the waist and cuffs.
Step 5
BONNET
Using 4.00mm hook, work 5ch and join with sl st to form a ring.
Rnd 1: (1dc, 2ch) 15tr in into ring, join with a sl st into 2nd ch of stch, 16 tr).
Rnd 2: 3ch, *(inc in next st, 1tr in next tr) rep from * to end finishing with a sl st into 1st ch of stch (24 tr).
Rnd 3: 3ch, *(inc in next st, 1tr in each of next 2 tr) rep from * to end finishing with a sl st into 1st ch of stch (32 tr).
Rnd 4: 3ch, *(inc in next st, 1tr in each of next 3 tr) rep from * to end finishing with a sl st into 1st ch of stch (40 tr).
Rnd 5: 3ch, 1tr in each of next 3 tr, * (inc in next st, 1tr in each of next 9 tr) rep from * to last 6 tr, inc in next st, 1tr in each of next 5 tr, sl st into 1st ch of stch, sl st into next tr, turn 44 tr).

Change to 4.50mm hook, and work bonnet in rows as follows:
Row 6: 1ch, 1dc in 1st tr, *(2ch, sk 2 tr, cluster, 2ch, sk 2 tr, 1dc) rep from * to end of row, turn.
Row 7: beg cluster, (2ch, 1dc in top of cluster, 2ch, cluster in next dc) rep to end of row, finishing with a 2ch, cluster in last dc, turn.
Row 8: 1dc in top of cluster, (2ch, cluster in next dc, 2ch, 1dc in top of cluster) rep to end of row, finishing with a 2ch, 1dc in top of beg cluster, turn.
Rows 7 & 8 form patt, rep patt 4 times or until length required.
Last row: 3ch, 2tr in 1st dc, (1dc in next cluster, shell in next dc) rep from * to end, finishing with 1dc in last cluster, 3tr in last dc, fasten off and sew in ends.
Thread ribbon through neck edge of bonnet.
Step 6
BOOTIES - make 2

Using 4.00mm hook make 17ch, turn.
Row 1: 2htr in 4th ch from hook, 1htr in each of next 5 ch, 3htr in next ch, 1htr in each of next 5 ch, 2htr in next ch, 1htr in last ch, turn (19 htr).
Row 2: (1dc, 1ch) in 1st htr, 2htr in next htr, 1htr in each of next 6 htr, 2htr in each of next 3 htr, 1htr in each of next 6 htr, 2htr in next htr, 1htr in ch of stst, turn (24 htr).
Row 3: (1dc, 1ch) in 1st htr, 2htr in next htr, 1htr in each of next 8 htr, 2htr in each of next 4 htr, 1htr in each of next 8 htr, 2htr in next htr, 1htr in ch of stst, turn (30 htr).
Row 4: (1dc, 1ch) in 1st htr, 2htr in next htr, 1htr in each of next 12 htr, 2htr in each of next 2 htr, 1htr in each of next 12 htr, 2htr in next htr, 1htr in ch of stst, turn (34 htr).
Row 5: (1dc, 1ch) in 1st htr, 1htr in each of next 32 htr, 1htr in ch of stst, turn (34 htr).
Row 6: (1dc, 1ch) in 1st htr, 1htr in each of next 15 htr, 2htr in next htr, 1htr in each of next 16htr, 1htr in ch of stst, turn (35 htr).
Fasten off and cut yarn.
Turn.
Step 7
Instep
Row 1: (RS facing) Sk 13 htr, join yarn in next htr with a sl st, (1dc, 1ch) in same htr, 1htr in each of next 8 htr, turn (9 htr).
Row 2: (1dc, 1ch) in 1st htr, 1htr in each of next 8 htr, turn (9 htr).
Repeat row 2 three more times.
Fasten off and cut yarn.
Using a flat seam, sew centre back and sole seams, using the next 5 sts on each side of the instep, sew instep in place.
Step 8
Cuff
Row 1: (WS facing) join yarn at centre back with sl st, (1dc, 1ch) in same st as sl st, 1htr in each of next 7 htr, 9htr across instep, 1htr in each of next 6 htr, 2htr in next htr, 1htr in last st, join with a sl st into ch of stst, turn (26 htr).
Row 2: (RS facing) (1dc, 1ch) in same st as sl st, 1htr in each of next 25 htr, sl st into ch of stst.
Row 3: (1dc, 1ch) in same st as sl st, *(1ch, sk 1 htr, 1htr in next htr) rep from * to end, 1ch, sl st into ch of stst.
Row 4: (1dc, 1ch) in same st as sl st, 1htr in next 1-ch sp, 1htr in next htr) rep from * to end, sl st into ch of stst.
Row 5: 1ch, 1dc in 1st htr, *(2ch, sk 2 htr, cluster, 2ch, sk 2 htr, 1dc) rep from * to end of row, sl st into 1st dc.
Row 6: beg cluster, (2ch, 1dc in top of cluster, 2ch, cluster in next dc) rep to end of row, finishing with 2ch, sl st into top of beg cluster.
Repeat rows 5 & 6 twice.
Row 11: 1dc in top of cluster, *(shell in next dc, 1dc in top of cluster) rep from * to end of row, finishing with a sl st into 1st dc, fasten off and sew in ends.
Thread ribbon through eyelets at base of cuff.
Step 9
MITTENS - make 2

Using 4.00mm hook.
Rnd 1: Make a large loop by putting the yarn tail behind the working yarn (yarn coming from ball), leaving at least a 10cm tail; with your hook, draw the working yarn through the loop, so you have one loop on the hook.
Work 10htr into magic circle, sl st to 1st htr, pull tail to tighten circle.
Rnd 2: (1dc, 1ch, 1htr) in 1st htr, 1htr in each htr around, sl st into ch of stst (10 htr).
Rnd 3: (1dc, 1ch, 1htr) in 1st htr, (2htr in next htr, 1htr in next htr) rep to end, sl st into ch of stst (15 htr).
Rnd 4: (1dc, 1ch, 1htr) in 1st htr, (2htr in next htr, 1htr in each of next 2 htr) rep to end, sl st into ch of stst (20 htr).
Rnd 5-9: (1dc, 1ch, 1htr) in 1st htr, 1htr in each htr to end, sl st into 1ch of stst, (20 htr).
Continue working as per Bootie Cuff from Row 3 to end deleting one repeat of rows 5 & 6.
Fasten off, sew in ends. Thread lace through eyelets at base of cuff.
