Use embroidery hoops to showcase delectably flash fabrics!
Final Result
Materials
• 2 x 35cm round embroidery hoops
• 2 x 30cm round embroidery hoops
• 1 x 25cm round embroidery hoop
• 80cm x 45cm floral printed cotton fabric
• 80cm x 40cm green printed cotton fabric
• 40cmx 40cm purple printed cotton fabric
• 12mm wide double-sided mounting tape
• sharp scissors
• iron
Step 1
Iron each fabric piece to remove all creases and lay each fabric piece right side down. Remove inner circle from embroidery hoop and stick double-sided tape to the outer flat edge of inner circle.
Step 2
Remove the backing paper from the tape and place hoop on the wrong side of fabric with at least 5cm excess fabric on all sides of the hoop. Carefully bring the excess fabric up around hoop pressing fabric firmly to the outer edge of hoop onto double-sided tape. Fabric must be firm and taut around hoop so adjust any excess fabric until all fabric is flat and tight.
Step 3
Turn hoop right side over. Place outer hoop over fabric covered hoop and tighten the screw on the outer hoop all the way. Further adjust any slack in the fabric by pulling excess fabric from the back.
Step 4
When fabric is flat and tight, cut excess fabric away from back of hoop using sharp scissors.
Handy Hint
To change this hoop art simply remove the outer hoop, then the fabric and tape; replace the tape and insert new fabric. If a more permanent option is required, substitute mounting tape with craft glue.
