How to - raw edge appliqué
By Spotlight
- As the name implies, raw edge appliqué pieces are applied without having the edges turned under. This can be done by machine or by hand. The development of fusible web such as Vliesofix, which provides stability and seals the edges against fraying, has seen machine appliqué become popular as it enables the work to stand up to wear and tear & repeated washing. The growth in art quilts has also seen an increase in the use of raw edge appliqué.
