Insert lace cushion cover

- Materials
- • Gütermann sewing thread - natural &/white
• sewing machine
• optional - overlocker
• scissors
• pins, tape measure
• 60cm natural linen shirting
• 40cm natural linen shirting
• 85cm white cambric lace insertion
• 36cm x 36cm cushion insert - Step 1
- From white linen shirting cut a 30cm square and a 12cm square (front). From natural linen shirting cut two 30cm x 12cm rectangles (front) and two 40cm x 29cm rectangles (back). Neaten one 40cm edge of each rectangle by turning the edge under 1.5cm. Press and sew or overlock.
- Step 2
- Cut a 30cm length of lace and pin along one edge of white 30cm square raw edges aligned. Sew in place, press seam towards square. Pin a 30cm x 12cm rectangle along the other edge of lace and sew in place. Press seam towards rectangle.
- Step 3
- Cut a 40cm length of lace, pin along edge of step 2. Sew and press as before.
- Step 4
- Repeat step 2 using 12cm square and remaining rectangle.
- Step 5
- Join step 4 to the remaining side of the lace in step 3. Press.
- Step 6
- With front right side up pin one half of the back face down, hemmed edge in the centre. Repeat overlapping remaining back piece in the centre. Sew around all four edges, turn right side out and press. Insert cushion.
