Kids Christmas Table - Glitter Felt Placemats

Placemats add an extra touch to a kids table.

Materials

For one place mat -
12" x 18" sheet stiff glitter felt sheet - lime
1.1m x 6mm red & white gingham ribbon
4 x white buttons
Red perle thread
Gutermann red sewing thread
Hand needle
Sewing machine
Craft knife, cutting mat & ruler
Pencil
Scissors

Step 1

Cut large sheet of stiff glimmer felt in half (this will give you two placemats).

Step 2

Measure and rule a line 4cm in from each of the four sides.

Place gingham ribbon over the pencil lines and stitch in place using sewing machine.

Trim ribbon ends flush with edge of felt.

Step 3

Sew a white button with red perle thread over the four places where the ribbons intersect near each corner.

Tie off the thread at the front of each button.

Trim ends of thread to 1cm in length.
