• 1 x 100g ball ‘Moda Vera’ Marvel 8ply - dark red
• 1 x 100g ball ‘Moda Vera’ Marvel 8ply - pink
• Small amount black for face
• 4.00mm crochet hook
• Scissors
• Yarn needle - Step 1
- Using 4.00mm crochet hook and Marvel 8ply in curry
Rnd 1: Work 2ch, 7dc in 2nd ch from hook, sl st to 1st dc.
Rnd 2: Inc, 1dc in each of next 2 dc, incA, 1dc in each of next 2 dc, inc (11 dc).
Rnd 3: Inc, 1dc in each of next 4 dc, incA, 1dc in each of next 4 dc, inc (14 dc).
Rnd 4: Inc, 1dc in each of next 6 dc, incA, 1dc in each of next 6 dc, inc(17 dc).
Rnd 5: 1dc in each of next 8 dc, incA, 1dc in each of next 8 dc (18 dc).
Rnd 6: 1dc in each of next 9 dc, incA, 1dc in each of next 9 dc (20 dc).
Rnd 7: 1dc in each of next 10 dc, incA, 1dc in each of next 10 dc (22 dc).
Rnd 8: 1dc in each of next 11 dc.
Change to turquoise
Rnd 9: IncA, 1dc in each of next 23 dc.
Change to burnt orange,
Rnd 10: IncA, 1dc in each of next 25 dc.
Rnd 11: IncA, inc, 1dc in each of next 25 dc, inc.
Rnd 12: IncA, inc, inc, 1dc in each of next 27 dc, inc, inc.
Change to dark red
Rnd 13: IncC, incB, incB, 1dc in each of next 29 dc, incB, incB.
Rnd 14: IncC, incB, incB,, 1htr in each of next 2 sts, 1dc in each of next 29 dc, 1htr in each of next 2 sts, incB, incB.
Change to turquoise
Rnd 15: 1htr in each of next 4 sts, incB, 1dc in each of next 34 dc, incB, 1htr in each of next 42 sts.
Fasten off.
Join pink at centre front with a sl st.
Rnd 16: 1dc in each of next 6 sts,incB, (1ch, 1htr in next st) 31 times, 1ch, incB, 1dc in each of next 6 sts, sl st to 1st dc.
Fasten off and sew in all ends. - Step 2
- To make comb, sl st dark red in between the middle two sts at the centre front seam of the 6th row of head, and work upwards over the head and down two rows at the back, working (1dc, 1htr, 1tr, 1htr, 1dc) over two rows, four times.
Using curry sew a v-shaped stitch over the 1st dip in the comb to form a beak.
Using black sew a small eye on each side.
