Materials

• 1 x 100g ball ‘Moda Vera’ Marvel 8ply - white
• 1 x 100g ball ‘Moda Vera’ Marvel 8ply - curry
• Small amount black & pink for faces
• 4.00mm crochet hook
• 6 x 50mm decofoam eggs
• Scissors
• Yarn needle

Step 1

CHICK - make 6
Using 4.00mm crochet hook and Marvel 8ply in curry

Rnd 1: Work 2ch, 6dc in 2nd ch from hook, sl st to 1st dc.
Rnd 2: Inc, in each dc around, (12 dc).
Rnd 3: 1dc in each dc around (12 dc).
Rnd 4: (1dc in next dc, inc) 6 times (18 dc).
Rnds 5-8: 1dc in each dc around (18 dc).
Rnd 9: (1dc in each of next 2 dc, inc) 6 times (24 dc).
Rnd 10: 1dc in each dc around (24 dc).

Place decofoam egg inside cover and continue working around the shape.

Rnd 11: (dec, 1dc in each of next 2 dc) 6 times (18 dc).
Rnd 12: (dec, 1dc in next dc) 6 times (12 dc).
Rnd 13: (dec over next 2 dc) 6 times(6 dc).

Fasten off, thread end through rem 6 sts, pull closed and sew in ends.

Step 2

EGG - make 3
Using 4.00mm crochet hook and Marvel 8ply in white

Rnd 1: Work 2ch, 7dc in 2nd ch from hook, sl st to 1st dc.
Rnd 2: Inc in each dc around (14 dc).
Rnd 3: 1dc in each dc around (14 dc).
Rnd 4: (1dc in next dc, inc) 7 times (21 dc).
Rnds 5-8: 1dc in each dc around (21 dc).
Rnd 9: (1dc in each of next 2 dc, inc) 7 times (28 dc).
Rnd 10: 1dc in each dc around (28 dc).

Place chick inside cover and continue working around the shape.

Rnd 11: (dec, 1dc in each of next 2 dc) 7 times (21 dc).
Rnd 12: (dec, 1dc in next 1dc) 7 times (14 dc).
Rnd 13: (dec over next 2 dc) 7 times (7 dc).

Fasten off, thread end through rem 7sts, pull closed and sew in ends.

Step 3

EGG COVER BOTTOM - make 3
Using 4.00mm crochet hook and Marvel 8ply in white

Rnd 1: 2ch, 8dc in 2nd ch from hook, sl st to 1st dc.
Rnd 2: Inc in each dc around (16 dc).
Rnd 3: 1dc in each dc around (16 dc).
Rnd 4: (1dc in next dc, inc) 8 times (24 dc).
Rnds 5-7: 1dc in each dc around (24 dc).
Rnd 8: (1dc in each of next 4 dc, dec) 4 times (20 dc).

Fasten off, sew in ends.

Step 4

Embroider black eyes and pink beak onto 3 remaining yellow chicks and place into covers.

Embroider black eyes and beak onto each of the three white eggs.
