'Moda Vera' Cupcake Crochet Snake

• Small quantity of red & dark blue ‘Moda Vera’ Cupcake for face
• 4.00mm crochet hook
• Scissors
• Yarn needle
• Hobby fill for stuffing
• Optional - stitch marker

Step 1

PATTERN
The snake is worked in a spiral so it is advisable to use a stitch marker to mark the start of each round.

Using the main colour (green) start at the nose.
Rnd 1: 2ch, 6dc in 2nd ch from hook, sl st to 1st dc.
Rnd 2: 2dc in each dc around (12 dc).

To finish off, use a needle to work the tail through the loops to close the circle after you have finished stuffing the tail, pull it through and sew in the tail.

Step 2

TONGUE
Row 1: Using a small amount of red cupcake, make 4ch, turn.
Row 2: 1dc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 dc in ea of next 2 ch, turn.
Row 3: 1ch, 1dc in ea of next 3 sts, turn.
Row 4: 1ch, 1dc in ea of next 3 sts, turn.

Forked ends: 2ch, yoh, pull up loop in 1st st, yoh, pull through 1st two loops, yoh, pull up loop in next st, yoh pull through 1st two loops, yoh, pull through all 3 loops on hook, finish off.
Turn, sl st into last unworked dc, 2ch, yoh, pull up loop in 1st st, yoh, pull through 1st two loops, yoh, pull up loop in next st, yoh pull through 1st two loops, yoh, pull through all 3 loops on hook, finish off.
Sew in ends and attach just below the nose.

Embroider two eyes using small amounts of dark yarn.
