Materials

- ‘Moda Vera’ Manor 50g balls as per size
- 1 pair 5.00mm knitting needles
- Stitch holder
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
- Tape measure

Tension
13 sts x 24 rows to 10cm over stocking st using 5.00mm knitting needles.

yfwd = yarn forward.

Step 1

Back
Cast on 53 (60, 67, 74) sts and work 8 rows of garter st (knit every row).

Commence Drop st pattern as follows:
Row 1: K1, *yfwd, K1, rep from * to end of row.
Row 2: Purl across row dropping off extra yarn to form long sts, 53 (60, 67, 74) sts.

Cont in pattern until work measures 21 (21, 23, 23) cm from beg ending with a purl row.**

Step 2

Shape Armholes
Cast off 2 (2, 3, 3) sts at beg of the next 2 rows, 49 (54, 61, 68) sts.

Dec 1 st each end of every row until 37 (42, 49, 56) sts rem.

Work 2 more rows of pattern. Change to stocking st and cont without shaping until work measures 42 (42, 48, 48)cm from the beg ending with a purl row.

Shape Shoulders
Cast off 4 (5, 6, 7) sts at beg of next 4 rows. Place rem 21 (22, 25, 28) sts on a stitch holder.

Step 3

Left Front
Cast on 25 (28, 31, 34) sts. Work same as for back to **

Armhole & Neck Shaping Cast off 2 (2, 3, 3) sts at beg of the next row, 23 (26, 28, 31) sts. Work 1 row.
Dec 1 st at beg of this row then armhole edge in every row 6 times, aT THE SaME TIME, dec 1 st at neck edge (end) of this and foll alt rows 4 times. Change to stocking st, dec 1 st at neck edge (end) of every 4th (4th, 4th, 3rd) row until 8 (10, 12, 14) sts rem.
Cont without shaping, until front measures same as for back before shoulder shaping, ending with a purl row.

Shoulder Shaping Cast off 4 (5, 6, 7) sts at beg of next row. Work 1 row. Cast off rem 4 (5, 6, 7) sts.

Step 4

Right Front
Cast on 25 (28, 31, 34) sts. Work same as for back to **. Work 1 row of pattern.

Armhole & Neck Shaping
Cast off 2 (2, 3, 3) sts at beg of next row, 23 (26, 28, 31) sts. Dec 1 st at beg (neck edge) of this and foll alt rows 4 times, at the same time, dec1 st at the end of this row then armhole edge in every row 6 times.

Change to stocking st, dec 1 st at beg (neck edge) of every 4th (4th, 4th, 3rd) row until 8 (10, 12, 14) sts rem.

Cont without shaping, until front measures same as for back before shoulder shaping, ending with a knit row.

Step 5

Shoulder Shaping

Cast off 4 (5, 6, 7) sts at beg of next row. Work 1 row.

Cast off rem 4 (5, 6, 7) sts.

Step 6

Front band
With right sides facing, pin and sew shoulder seams together.

Knit up 64 (64, 70, 70) sts evenly along right front, knit 21 (22, 25, 28) sts from back neck stitch holder, knit up 64 (64, 70, 70) sts evenly along
left front, 149 (150, 165, 168) sts. Work 6 rows of garter st.

Cast off knitways.

Step 7

Armbands
Knit up 60 (60, 68, 68) sts evenly along one armhole edge and work same as for Front Band. repeat for other armhole edge.

Step 8

Make Up
Pin and sew side seams including armbands. Weave in loose ends.

Step 9

Tassel Ties (make 2)
Cut 20 x 20cm lengths of yarn for tassel.
Cut 2 x 80cm lengths of yarn for tie. Cut 1 x 30cm lengths of yarn for wrap.
Hold the 20 lengths together and fold in half over the centre of the 80cm tie, ensuring lengths are even.
Tie 30cm length around top of tassel approx 1.5cm from the fold then wrap tightly and knot to secure.
Tuck in ends.
Take each end of the tie (80cm) and twist tightly in opposite directions.
When tie is twisted tightly, hold the ends together, fold in the centre (tassel) and the tie will twist together to make a twisted cord.
Trim bottom of tassels to neaten.
Repeat for the other tassel.
Secure through front bands where shaping commences.
Weave in loose ends to neaten.
