Crochet this hooded vest - perfect for those mild weather days.

• 6 x 50g balls ‘Moda Vera’ Pure Wool 8ply
• 6.00mm crochet hook
• Scissors
• Yarn needle
Step 1
BACK
Foundation row: Make 50ch.
Row 1: 1tr in 3rd ch from hook, 1tr in each of next 4 sts (sk 2 ch, 1tr in each of next 5 sts, 2ch, 1tr in each of next 5 sts) three times, sk 2 ch, 1tr in each of next 4 sts, 2tr in last ch, turn.
Row 2: 2ch, 1tr in 1st tr, 1tr in each of next 4 sts, (sk 2 tr, 1tr in each of next 4 sts, 1tr, 2ch, 1tr in next 2-ch lp, 1tr in each of next 4 sts) three times, sk 2tr, 1tr in each of next 4 tr, 2tr in 2nd ch of stch, turn.
Repeat row 2, 23 times.
Row 26: 1ch, 1dc in 1st tr, (1dc in next st, 1htr in each of next 2 sts, 1tr in each of next 4 sts, 1htr in each of next 2 sts, 1dc in next st, 1dc in next 2-ch lp) 4 times, 1dc in next st, 1htr in each of next 2 sts, 1tr in each of next 4 sts, 1htr in each of next 2 sts, 1dc in stch, fasten off.
Step 2
LEFT FRONT
Foundation row: Make 32ch.
Row 1: 1tr in 3rd ch from hook, 1tr in each of next 4 sts (sk 2 ch, 1tr in each of next 5 sts, 2ch, 1tr in each of next 5 sts) twice, 1tr in last ch, turn.
Row 2: 2ch, sk 1 tr, (1tr in each of next 4 sts, 1tr, 2ch, 1tr in next 2-ch lp, 1tr in each of next 4 sts, sk 2 tr) twice, 1tr in each of next 4 tr, 2tr in 2nd ch of stch, turn.
Row 3: 2ch, 1tr in 1st tr, 1tr in each of next 4 sts (sk 2tr, 1tr in each of next 4 sts, 1tr, 2ch, 1tr in next 2-ch lp, 1tr in each of next 4 sts) twice, sk 1 tr, 1tr in 2nd ch of stch, turn.
Rows 2 & 3 form the pattern.
Repeat pattern 10 times, then row 2 once more.
Row 25: 2ch, 1tr in 1st tr, 1tr in each of next 4 sts, sk 2 tr, 1tr in each of next 4 sts, 1tr, 2ch, 1tr in next 2-ch lp, 1tr in each of next 4 sts, sk 2 tr, 1tr in each of next 4 sts, 1tr in 2nd ch of stch, turn.
Row 26: 1ch, 1dc in 1st tr, 1dc in next st, 1htr in each of next 2 sts, 1tr in each of next 4 sts, 1htr in each of next 2 sts, 1dc in next st, 1dc in next 2-ch lp, 1dc in next st, 1htr in each of next 2 sts, 1tr in each of next 4 sts, 1htr in each of next 2 sts, 1dc in stch, fasten off.

Note:
RIGHT FRONT is worked in the opposite way to left front; follow instructions from left to right of each line.
Step 3
HOOD Foundation row: Make 62ch.
Row 1: 1tr in 2nd ch from hook, 1tr in each of next 4 sts (sk 2 ch, 1tr in each of next 5 sts, 2ch, 1tr in each of next 5 sts) four times, sk 2 ch, 1 tr in each of next 4 tr, 2tr in 2nd ch of stch, turn.
Row 2: 2ch, 1tr in 1st tr, 1tr in each of next 4 sts, (sk 2tr, 1tr in each of next 4 sts, 1tr, 2ch, 1tr in next 2-ch lp, 1tr in each of next 4 sts) four times, sk 2 ch, 1tr in each of next 4 tr, 2tr in 2nd ch of stch, turn.
Repeat row 2, 14 times.
Row 17: 1ch, 1dc in 1st tr, (1dc in next st, 1htr in each of next 2 sts, 1tr in each of next 4 sts, 1htr in each of next 2 sts, 1dc in next st, 1dc in next 2-ch lp) four times, 1dc in next st, 1htr in each of next 2 sts, 1tr in each of next 4 sts, 1htr in each of next 2 sts, 1dc in stch, turn.
Row 18: 1ch, 1dc in 1st tr, (1dc in next st, 1htr in each of next 2 sts, 1tr in each of next 4 sts, 1htr in each of next 2 sts, 1dc in next st, 1dc in next 2-ch lp) 4 times, 1dc in next st, 1htr in each of next 2 sts, 1tr in each of next 4 sts, 1htr in each of next 2 sts, 1dc in stch.
Fasten off.
Step 4
MAKE UP
With right sides facing and using a whip st, attach both right and left fronts to the back at each shoulder seam.
Sew up the side seams starting at the bottom and working up 15 rows, leaving the rest to make the sleeve opening.
Fold hood piece in half along the middle chevron, and sew up the top seam to form the hood shape.
Attach to the neck of the jacket along the neck line from opening to opening, easing the hood to fit.
Sew in all ends.

    • lp is the abbreviation for loop. In Row 1, 2ch is worked between the tr sts. So in Row 2 those 2ch form a 2-ch lp and the tr is worked into that loop. Hope this helps.
