Mother’s day gift set - card

Incorporate beading wire into a papercraft project with this lovely set.

Materials

• A4 white cardstock
• American Crafts Moda Bella scrapbook paper - minimal, sophisticated, mysterious
• yellow weave cardstock
• pencil
• double-sided tape
• craft knife & cutting mat
• sharp scissors
• 2 coordinating brads
• 24 gauge beading wire
• black gel pen
• large pin or needle

Step 1

Cut white cardstock 21cm x 20cm. Fold in half widthwise (21cm x 10cm), lightly scoring card if necessary. Cut 2 pieces of yellow weave cardstock 20cm x 9cm, centre on the insides of the card and attach using double-sided tape. Cut a 20cm x 9cm piece from minimal paper and stick to the centre front of card.

Step 2

From the sophisticated paper cut a 7cm high flower pot with a top width of 4cm and a base of 2cm. Cut a 4cm long orange strip from mysterious paper and stick across flower pot 15mm from top edge. Trim overlap to match angle of pot. Cut a small slit on the right of orange strip through flower pot, push through a brad and secure at back.

Step 3

Wrap wire around a pencil to make a spiral 7cm long. Slip spiral from pencil and straighten 1cm at each end. Stick one end of spiral to the centre back of flower pot. Cut 2 straight pieces of wire, one 4cm long and the other 6cm long. Stick one end of each wire to the back of the flower pot, on each side of spiral. Attach flower pot to centre front of card 5mm up from bottom of pink paper.

Step 4

Cut 2 x 3.5cm long leaves from sophisticated paper. Gently fold each leaf in half and stick one side only to card at top of each straight wire. From remaining white cardstock cut a small tag 6cm x 2cm. Cut off two corners and make a hole with large pin or needle. Write message in black gel pen allow to dry. Thread tag onto the top of wire spiral, winding it half way down so tag falls slightly onto top of flower pot. Secure top of wire to card with double-sided tape.

Step 5

From yellow weave cardstock, cut a flower shape 5cm wide and 5cm high. Make a small slit in the middle of flower, push through a brad and secure at back of flower. Stick flower to card over the top of the wire spiral.
