Add a little personality to Mum's morning with this simple but effective decorative technique.

Materials

1. Plain white ceramic mug.
2. Wash mug in warm soapy water and dry thoroughly.
3. After painting allow mug to dry for 24 hours then bake in oven following manufacturer’s instructions remembering to leave mug to cool in oven.

Step 1

Using the paint brush paint the palm and fingers of the child’s hand with a generous amount of Porcelaine paint. Slowly place painted side of child’s hand onto front of mug, as though the child is holding the mug. Without moving hand or fingers, firmly press fingers and hand onto paint to transfer paint. Carefully lift child’s hand from mug, without moving fingers sideways. Set mug aside to dry.

Handy Hint

Use a dry brush with Porcelaine paint, as any water in this paint will stop it from setting properly and it will stay tacky after baking.
