Materials

• paper mâché box
• white paint (or paint to co-ordinate with fabric
choice)
• scraps of fabric
• co-ordinating ribbon
• Kaisercraft clear sealer
• scissors

Step 1

Paint the box and lid. If using a light colour 2 coats is best, allowing drying time in between coats.

Step 2

Put the lid on the box then measure the depth of the box from the lower edge of the lid to determine the length to cut strips of scrap fabric. Cut strips the required length. Measure and cut strips to suit the lid of the box.

Step 3

Paint one coat of clear sealer onto one side of the box then arrange the strips of fabric on the wet sealer. Paint another coat over the strips of fabric. Repeat for all sides and the lid. Attach ribbon around the lid in the same way.
