- Materials
- • 50cm cream homespun for embroidery squares
• 50cm maroon spot or fabric of choice for top & binding
• 1m matching fabric for sashing & borders
• 60cm fleecy for backing
• matching cotton thread
• 4 x 25mm buttons
• quilt basting spray
• embroidery machine
• embroidery threads
• design disk ‘Sewing Room Commandments’
• 4” embroidery hoop
• rotary cutter, mat and quilters rulers
• quilting pins, tape measure
• scissors, seam ripper
• hand needle
• sewing machine with ¼” foot and walking foot - Step 1
- Embroider your ten commandments and your heading first.

- Step 2
- Cut the embroidered commandments and heading into 6½” squares. Set heading aside.

- Step 3
- Cut a 2½” strip from the matching fabric, crosscut into 6½” x 2½” sashing and use to join embroidered squares together in pairs, you will have 5 sets.
- Step 4
- Cut 2 x 2½” strips, crosscut into 14½” lengths and use to join the above sets.
- Step 5
- Add a 2½” strip to the top and a 4½” strip to the bottom.
- Step 6
- Cut 2 x 4½” wide strips by the length of the quilt and join one to each side.
- Step 7
- Cut two 6½” x 7½” strips of maroon spot fabric.
- Step 8
- Join one to each side of the heading.
- Step 9
- Join this piece to the top of the quilt. Press your quilt
- Step 10
- Spray the backing with basting spray and lay your front on top. Smooth to remove any wrinkles.
- Note
- All fabrics should be 100% cotton, washed & pressed. ¼” seam allowance used throughout unless otherwise indicated. Read all instructions carefully before commencing the quilt.
