Materials

• 4 x 100g balls ‘Bella Baby’ Baby 4ply
• 8.00mm crochet hook
• Scissors
• Yarn needle

Step 1

Foundation Row: Using 8.00mm crochet hook and 2 strands of yarn together, make 122ch.
Row 1: 1dc in 2nd ch from hook, 1dc in each st to end, turn (121 dc).
Row 2: 1ch, 1dc in 1st st, *3ch, sk 4 dc, shell a in next dc, 3ch, sk 4 dc, 1dc in next dc, repeat from * to last st, 1dc in last dc, turn.
Row 3: (1dc, 3ch, 1dc) in 1st dc, *shell b in 5-ch lp, (1dc, 3ch, 1dc) in next dc, repeat from * to last st, (1dc, 3ch, 1dc) into last st, turn.
Row 4: 5ch, 1tr in 1st 3-ch lp, *3ch, (1dc, 3ch, 1dc) in 1-ch lp of shell b below, 3ch, shell a in 3-ch lp, repeat from * to last st, (1tr, 3ch, 1tr) in last st, turn.
Row 5: 4ch, 5tr in 3-ch lp, * (1dc, 3ch, 1dc) in next 3-ch lp, shell b in 5-ch lp, repeat from * to last st, (5tr, 1ch, 1tr) in 3-ch lp, turn.
Row 6: 1ch, 1dc in 1st 1-ch lp, *3ch, shell a in next 3-ch lp, 3ch, (1dc, 3ch, 1dc) in 1-ch lp of shell b below, repeat from * to last st, (1dc, 3ch, 1dc) in last lp, turn.
Rows 5 - 6 form pattern.
Repeat pattern to length required, ending with a row 5.
Next Row: 1dc in 1st lp, *3ch, (1tr, 1ch, 1tr) in next 3-ch lp, 3ch, 1dc in 1-ch lp of shell b below, repeat from * to last st, 1dc in last lp, turn.
Next Row: Work 122dc across the row, turn.

Step 2

Border: (1dc, 3ch, 1dc) in 1st st, *3ch, sk 3 dc, 1dc in next st, repeat from * to end of row.
Do not turn.
(1dc, 3ch, 1dc) in corner, continue working in pattern along the side edge, across the bottom and up the other side, remembering to put a 3-ch loop in each corner, finishing with 1ch, 1htr into 1st dc.
Rnd 2: 1dc in top of htr, (1dc, 3ch, 1dc) in next corner, *3ch, 1dc in next corner, repeat from * to end of round working (1dc, 3ch, 1dc) in each corner, finishing with 1ch, 1htr in 1st dc.
Rnd 3: 3ch, 2tr in top of htr, 1dc in next lp, 9dtr in corner, *1dc in next lp, 5dtr in next lp, repeat from * to end of row, 9dtr in corner, continue working in established pattern until the end of round sl st into 1st dc.
Fasten off and sew in all ends.
