- Materials
- Fabrics are from ‘Sorbet’ quilting range
- 40cm Fabric A – abstract floral pink
- 40cm Fabric B – abstract floral turquoise
- 40cm Fabric C –floral purple
- 40cm Fabric D – floral aqua
- 40cm Fabric E – tonal abstract pink
- 40cm Fabric F – tonal abstract turquoise
- 40cm Fabric G – spot red
- 70cm Fabric H – spot green (includes binding)
- 40cm Fabric I – stripe blue
- 40cm Fabric J – stripe green
- 80cm white homespun
- 2.5m Fabric of choice for backing
- 1.5m Sew Easy cotton/bamboo batting
- Matching Gu?termann 100% cotton thread
- Rotary cutter, mat & quilters rulers
- Quilting pins, tape measure
- Scissors, seam ripper
- Hand needle
- Sewing machine with 1/4” foot and walking foot
All fabrics should be 100% cotton, washed & pressed.
1/4" seam allowance used throughout unless otherwise indicated.
Read all instructions carefully before commencing the quilt. - Step 1
- CUTTING
- From each of Fabrics A, B, C, D, E, F & G cut 1 x 12” square (7 squares in total).
- From Fabric H cut 1 x 12” square and 5 x 2 1/2” strips for binding.
- From each of Fabrics I & J cut 2 x 12” squares (4 squares in total).
- From white homespun cut 11 x 2 1/2” strips, set 5 strips aside for horizontal sashing and crosscut remaining 6 strips into 16 x 12” lengths for vertical sashing. 
- Step 2
- ROWS
Arrange squares into 4 rows with 3 blocks per row. Insert a vertical 12” white sashing strip between each block and one at each end of the row. - Step 3
- When happy with your layout sew sashings and squares in each row together. Press seams towards squares.
- Step 4
- QUILT TOP
Sew the rows together with a long sashing between each then sew one long sashing to the top and one to the bottom. Press seams towards squares. - Step 5
- Layer backing, batting and quilt top, baste together. Quilt in the ditch or as desired.
- Step 6
- Join the 5 x 2 1/2” green spot binding strips to make one long strip. Press in half lengthwise and bind mitering corners.
Attach a label or sign and date your quilt.
