- • ‘Bella Baby’ YUMMY 50g balls as per size
• 1 pair 3.75mm knitting needles
• 1 pair 3.00mm knitting needles
• Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure
• Toggles as per size - Step 1
- BODY
Using 3.00mm needles, cast on 131 (139, 147, 159, 167) sts, work 6 rows of 1 x 1
rib as follows:
Row 1: (K1, P1) to last st, K1.
Row 2: (P1, K1) to last st, P1.
Change to 3.75mm needles and stocking st, cont until work measures 12 (13, 14, 17, 20)cm, from beg, ending with a wrong side row. - Step 2
- RIGHT FRONT
K34 (36, 38, 41, 43), turn.
Cont in stocking st on these sts ONLY until work measures 24 (26, 27, 32, 34)cm from beg, ending with a wrong side row.
Shape Neck
Cast off 17 (19, 21, 23, 25) sts at beg of the next row.
Work 2 rows.
Cast off rem 17 (17, 17, 18, 18) sts for right shoulder. - Step 3
- BACK
Rejoin yarn to rem sts, K63 (67, 71, 77, 81), turn.
Work in stocking st on these sts ONLY until work measures same as for right front to shoulder cast off.
Cast off all sts. - Step 4
- LEFT FRONT
Rejoin yarn to rem K34 (36, 38, 41, 43) sts, cont in stocking st until work measures same as for right front to neck shaping, ending with a right side row.
Shape Neck
Cast off 17 (19, 21, 23, 25) sts at beg of the next row.
Work 2 rows.
Cast off rem 17 (17, 17, 18, 18) sts for left shoulder. - Step 5
- SLEEVES – Make 2
Using 3.00mm needles, cast on 37 (39, 41, 45, 47) sts.
Work 12 rows of 1 x 1 rib as for back.
Change to 3.75mm needles, work 4 rows of stocking st.
Shape Sleeve
Inc at each end of this and foll 4th rows until there are 57 (61, 65, 71, 75) sts.
Cont without shaping until work measures 17 (19, 22, 26, 30)cm from beg, ending
in a wrong side row.
Cast off. - Step 6
- HOOD
Using 3.75mm needles, cast on 74 (80, 86, 92, 96) sts, work in stocking st without
shaping until work measures for 8 (9, 10, 12, 14)cm.
Divide for Crown Shaping
K 37 (40, 43, 46, 48), turn. Purl 1 row.
Dec 1 st at the end of this and every alt row until 27 (30, 33, 32, 34) sts rem.
Purl 1 row. Cast off.
Rejoin yarn to rem sts, work 2 rows of stocking st.
Dec 1 st at beg of this and every alt row until 27 (30, 33, 32, 34) sts rem.
Purl 1 row. Cast off. - Step 7
- FRONT BAND
With right sides facing and using a back stitch, pin and sew shoulder seams. Fold
hood right sides together, pin and sew seam. Pin and sew hood to neckline from edge
to edge.
Knit up 68 (72, 76, 80, 84) sts along right front edge, knit up 40 (42, 44, 48, 52)
sts along right hood, knit up 1 st, in crown join, knit up 40 (42, 44, 48, 52) sts along
left hood, knit up 68 (72, 76, 80, 84) sts along left front edge, 217 (229, 241,
257, 273) sts.
Work 12 rows of 1 x 1 rib as for back.
Cast off loosely in rib. - Step 8
- POCKETS- Make 2
Using 3.00mm needles, cast on 23 (23, 25, 27, 29) sts, work 6 (6, 7, 8, 9)cm of 1 x
1 rib. Cast off. - Step 9
- LOOPS – Make 3 (3, 3, 4, 4)
Using 3.00mm needles, cast on 3 sts, work 9cm of 1 x 1 rib. Cast off. - Step 10
- FINISHING
Pin and sew sleeve seams, set in sleeves. Sew loops to right front band cast on line,
and sew toggles in place to match loops. Sew on pockets. Weave in loose ends. - Note
