Striped bonbon

By Spotlight

The word ‘bonbon’ stems from the French where ‘bon’ means good. While we might think of Christmas treats as bonbons, in the USA the term also refers to small blocks of icecream or cream cheese covered in chocolate.
Final Result
Materials
• 1 pkt bonbon rolls
• 1 pkt bonbon snaps
• double-sided tape
• paper trimmer
• scissors
• novelties &/sweets to go inside bonbon
• red & white striped paper
• Christmas embellishment
• red & white striped ribbon
• scalloped edge scissors

Insert bonbon snap through middle of the roll and fill with novelties, sweets, etc.
Step 1
Cut a piece of red and white striped paper 30cm x 16cm. Cut across both short ends with the scalloped edge scissors. Stick an 8cm piece of double-sided tape in the centre along the edge of one 30cm side. Remove the paper backing and press a filled bonbon roll onto the tape.

Wrap firmly making sure the snap and bag of goodies stay inside the roll and secure with double-sided tape where edges overlap.

Gather ends, tie with red and white striped ribbon and add a Christmas embellishment.
Handy Hint
If you fill bonbons with treats applicable to the recipient, write the names on a tag and add when tying the ends.
Handy Hint
It is a good idea to place the sweets & novelties into a small cellophane bag before placing them inside the bonbon roll.
