Final Result

Materials

• 1 pair 6.00mm knitting needles or size required to give correct tension
• Selection of beads
• Plain yarn for sewing seams
• Scissors
• Yarn needle
• Tape measure

Step 1

TENSION
This handknit has been designed at a tension of 14 sts and 20 rows to 10cm over stocking st, using 6.00mm needles.

Step 2

SLIPPERS (make 2, beg at toe)
using 6.00mm needles and MC, cast on 6 (8-10) sts.
Work 2 rows stocking st.
Cont in stocking st, inc one st at each end of next row and foll alt row... 10 (12-14) sts.
Cont (without further inc) until work measures 12 (14-16)cm from beg, ending with a purl row.

Shape Heel
Dec one st at each end of next row and foll alt row... 6 (8-10) sts.
Next Row: Purl.
Tie a marker at each end of last row.

Beg Upper
Inc one st at each end of next row and foll alt row... 10 (12-14) sts.
Work 3 (5-5) rows stocking st (without further inc), beg with a purl row.

Divide for Ankle Opening
Next Row: K3 (4-5), cast off 4 sts, K3 (4-5).
Work 7 (9-13) rows stocking st on these 3 (4-5) sts, beg with a purl row.
Cut off yarn.
Leave sts on needle.
With wrong side facing, join yarn to rem 3 (4-5) sts for other side of ankle.
Work 7 (9-13) rows stocking st, beg with a purl row.
Next Row: K3 (4-5), turn, cast on 4 sts, turn, knit across 3 (4-5) sts from first side of ankle... 10 (12-14) sts.
Cont in stocking st, beg with a purl row, until work measures 12 (14-16) cm from markers, ending with a purl row.
Dec one st at each end of next row and foll alt row... 6 (8-10) sts.
Next Row: Purl.
Cast off loosely knitways.

Step 3

FLOWER (make 2)
Using 6.00mm needles and CC, cast on 35 sts.
1st Row: * K1, cast off next 5 sts (not incl st already on needle), rep from * to last st, K1... 6 sts.
Cut off yarn leaving a long end.
Run end through rem sts, draw up tightly and fasten off securely.

Step 4

TO MAKE UP
Fold slippers in half at markers and using plain yarn and a flat seam, join seam.
Sew flower to centre front of each slipper, securing each flower with beads in centre.
