Valentine's table - candle embellishment

A dinner at home this Valentine’s Day gets the glamour touch when you make gorgeous napkin jewellery, wine glass & candle embellishments to set the scene.

Materials

For both

• pillar candle
• Ribtex bracelet memory wire
• Ribtex 4mm silver jump rings
• round nose pliers
• cutting pliers
• flat nose pliers
• bead board

Pretty in pink

• Ribtex 8mm crystal AB glass bicones
• Ribtex 10mm crystal AB round faceted glass beads
• Ribtex 10mm barely pink glass pearls
• Ribtex silver rope heart charms

Ruby hearts

• Ribtex 6mm red glass bicones
• Ribtex 6mm crystal AB round faceted glass beads
• Ribtex 13mm red glass heart
• Ribtex 3mm red glass seed beads
• Ribtex 4mm bright silver round plastic beads
• Ribtex silver decorative head pins

Step 1

Pretty in pink

Wind the memory wire from one end of the ‘stack’ around your candle to determine how many spirals are needed to fit your candle. Using cutting pliers, cut a section of wire (we used approx 5 ‘turns’ of wire) from the memory stack. Turn one end of the wire into a loop to stop the beads from sliding off the end. Arrange beads on bead board as desired or alternate the three beads styles to create a repeating pattern. Thread beads onto the wire to the end then create a loop as before. Attach a jump ring to each of 2 rope filigree hearts and attach a heart to each loop. Wrap wired beads around the candle.

Step 2

Ruby hearts

Wind the memory wire from one end of the ‘stack’ around your candle to determine how many spirals are needed to fit your candle. Using cutting pliers, cut a section of wire (we used approx 6 ‘turns’ of wire) from the memory stack. Turn one end of the wire into a loop to stop the beads from sliding off the end. Arrange beads on bead board as desired, thread onto the wire to the end then create a loop as before. Attach a jump ring to each of 2 rope filigree hearts and attach a heart to each loop. Wrap wired beads around the candle. Thread each red glass heart onto a decorative head pin and leaving 7mm of head pin, snip off the excess. Turn ends into a loop using a jump ring attach a heart to each loop of the beaded spiral. Wrap wired beads around the candle. Place the candle in the centre of your table and light for a magical evening.

Note

Warning: Never leave a burning candle unattended.

Handy Hint

If the beads are a little heavy & tend to sink down to the bottom of the candle simply use a dress pin to secure the top of the beaded spiral into the candle. This will hold your beaded embellishment in place.
