Block E – make 4 of this block

From the Pink Patch fabric cut –
• one strip, 41⁄2” x the width of the fabric, crosscut this strip into 4 x 41⁄2” squares
• one strip, 21⁄2” x the width of the fabric
• two strips 11⁄2” x the width of the fabric

From the Pink Spot fabric cut –
• one strip, 41⁄2” x the width of the fabric, cross cut this strip into 8 x 41⁄2” squares
• one strip, 21⁄2” x the width of the fabric
• two strips 11⁄2” x the width of the fabric

From the Pink Twist fabric cut –
• one strip, 21⁄2” x the width of the fabric
• two strips 11⁄2” x the width of the fabric

From the Pink Heart fabric cut –
• one strip, 21⁄2” x the width of the fabric
• two strips 11⁄2” x the width of the fabric

From the white fabric cut –
• 2 strips, 21⁄2” x the width of the fabric
• 4 strips, 11⁄2” x the width of the fabric

Sew together 6 sets of 11⁄2” strips along the length, mixing all the coloured fabrics with the white in pairs, in any combination you choose.You should have 6 sets of two as shown in Diagram 1.

Crosscut these strips into 96 pieces, 11⁄2” x 21⁄2” as shown in Diagram 2.

Sew these pieces into pairs to form a 4-patch, mixing all the fabrics up as you go in any combi- nation, see Diagram 3.

Make 48 x 4-patch blocks. Sew together four 4-patch blocks into a larger 4-patch as shown in Diagram

4. Make 12 of these larger 4-patch blocks.

Repeat the first step with the 21⁄2” strips, to make 3 sets of pairs.

Crosscut these strips into 24 pieces, 21⁄2” x 41⁄2”.

Sew these pieces into pairs to form a 4-patch, make 12 of these blocks.

Next, lay out the blocks in rows according to Diagram 5, mixing the colours until you are happy with the layout.

Sew together to make one block. Repeat until you have 4 blocks.
